This is probably not her first litter, but it will be her last. She [...]]]> Sophie is 4 years old, a real sweetheart and Sophie will be delivering a litter of pups very, very soon. As always we don’t know if her babies are pure or mixes and Sophie isn’t telling.

This is probably not her first litter, but it will be her last. She came to as an unclaimed stray and by her appearance she didn’t receive a lot of love and attention. When Sophie entered Recycled Rotts that all changed. She is now in foster care and being treated like a Queen.

Puppies are cute, puppies are fun and there is no better smell in the whole wide world than puppy breath. Weaning a litter of puppies is also expensive. This is where we need your help. SOPHIE’S PUPPY FUND has been established to help us offset some of those costs.

UPDATE – SOPHIE GAVE BIRTH TO FOUR PUPS ON MAY 11TH. 2 BOYS AND 2 GIRLS – ALL HEALTHY AND BEAUTIFUL LITTLE ROTTIE MIXES.

Smokey is a beautiful Rottie with that great blockie head and black and mahogany coloring that everyone loves. He is a friendly guy and very low key. Smokey walks great on a leash and has some basic obedience.

ANGEL – 3 year female.  Angel has been waiting a long time for a family to call her own and we are not sure why. Her foster family reports that this young lady is very well behaved, loves to play ball and go for walks. She is a very smart girl and anxious to please. Angel is housebroken and crate trained. ROCKY – This is one of the sweetest 7 year old dogs you could ever meet but he has not been so fortunate in finding caring humans. He was found tied to a tree and by his looks had obviously not been cared for in a while. Since Rocky has joined Recycled Rotts, our vets have examined him and found him in surprisingly good health.

Rocky is currently in a foster home and doing well. He and his foster sister are becoming the best of friends. Under her guidance he is learning to once again enjoy life and toys. Rocky is crate trained and learning to give signals that he wants to go out. For everything he has been through, Rocky still loves people and is a real sweatheart.

UPDATE – January 4, 2012 – Rocky is doing great in his foster home. He is steadily increasing his weight and his hair is beginning to grow back. He is finally starting to look like a real dog. His personality keeps getting better too. He enjoys the company of the other dogs in his foster home and has passed the cat test. Rocky is learning to play with toys, but for the most part just likes to hang out and be with his people. He loves the men in his life, he loves girls too, but he is definitely a man’s dog. Rocky is a real lover and would just like to have a home where he can hang out and enjoy being a dog.

UPDATE – FEBRUARY 28th – Rocky is doing so well in his foster home. He is a silent protector and will stay by your side until he knows that everything is okay. Toys are still a bit of a mystery. He will pick them up, but then lay on them. Rocky loves other dogs and the young puppy that lives behind his foster family provides endless exercise as they both run back and forth along the fence line. When he tires of the pup he goes to the other side and plays with that neighbors Golden Retreiver. He is doing well with cats and loves children.
While in foster care, Rocky is housebroken and is learning to sit and stay, give paw and shake. AND when was the last time you heard of a dog that enjoyed having his teeth brushed, ears cleaned and nails trimmed?

This boy has come a long way from the day he was found tied to a fence. He had a hard life but now, through the tender loving care his foster family has provided, he is more than ready for a new family. A family he can call his own. TEDDY is a super sweet 9 month old puppy that got his name because he is big, sweet, loveable teddy bear. He loves people and wants to play and give kisses to everyone he comes in contact with. When we met with Teddy, he only wanted to play with the other pups he met during our time together. Teddy will grow up to be a big boy but right now he is still very much a puppy, with puppy energy.  Teddy is definitely a candidate for obedience classes. Teddy’s new family should be one that is willing to make the commitment to work with him, taking him from a puppy to well mannered adult and beyond.
